Starting this week, the MacGown Art Studio is hosting its second ever paid Artist in Residence, Karina Rovira, Rovira, a Germany-based visual artist and analog photographer, will be staying in Starkville for two weeks to take photographs, draw, and generate new ideas for her artwork, until her reception at the Starkville Area Arts Council on December 2.
“Karina Rovira is a visual artists and analog photographer born in Florida to Puerto Rican parents She holds a BFA in photography from Savannah College of Art and Design and is currently based in Berlin, Germany,” Joe MacGown, owner of the MacGown Art Studio, said. “Karina works primarily with 35 mm, 4×5 film and often carries a camcorder.”
